Funkstille
A pavilion for going quiet.
More and more, public space belongs to our screens. We’re reachable everywhere, always. So where in the city is there still room to simply breathe?
Funkstille is a temporary, walk-in pavilion that creates a zone with no mobile reception. Built from conductive metal mesh, it dampens mobile signals on the Faraday principle — weakening the spectrum between 700 MHz and 3.8 GHz until calling becomes practically impossible.
The goal isn’t a dead zone. It’s a deliberate quieting — shade, stillness, and a new way of using urban space: no permanent reachability, but open to real encounters.
No signal. Just presence.
